1. Summary

This Cookie Policy explains the cookies and similar technologies used on paylo.one, operated by Paylo One, registered with the Dutch Chamber of Commerce (KvK) under number 42091728.

This website uses one cookie. It remembers the language you selected. There is no analytics, no advertising, no tracking, no social media embedding, and no profiling on this site.

Because that single cookie is strictly necessary to provide a service you explicitly requested, the law does not require us to ask for your consent, and that is why you are not shown a cookie banner. If we ever introduce a cookie that is not strictly necessary, we will ask for your consent before it is placed.

2. What Cookies Are

A cookie is a small text file that a website asks your browser to store on your device. On a later visit the browser sends it back, which lets the site recognise a setting or a session. Similar technologies, such as local storage, pixels, and device fingerprinting, achieve comparable results by other means. This site uses none of those similar technologies.

Under Article 11.7a of the Dutch Telecommunications Act, storing information on your device or reading information from it requires your prior consent, unless it is done solely to carry out a communication or is strictly necessary to provide a service you have explicitly requested.

3. The Cookie We Use

NEXT_LOCALE. Purpose: to remember the language you chose, so that the site continues to be shown in that language as you navigate and when you return. Type: a first-party functional cookie, set by paylo.one and readable only by paylo.one. Duration: up to one year. Legal position: strictly necessary for a service you explicitly requested, and therefore exempt from the consent requirement.

This cookie contains a language code and nothing else. It holds no identifier, no account reference, and no information about you, and it is not used to recognise you, to build a profile, or to track you across sites or sessions.

4. What We Do Not Use

To be explicit, because the absence is the point:

Our hosting provider processes standard server request logs in order to deliver the site and keep it secure, as described in section 2 of our Privacy Policy. That is server-side log processing, not a cookie, and it does not store anything on your device.

• No analytics or measurement cookies of any kind, first-party or third-party.
• No advertising, retargeting, or conversion-tracking cookies or pixels.
• No social media buttons, embeds, or share widgets that set cookies.
• No embedded third-party video, map, or font services that read from your device. Typefaces are self-hosted at build time.
• No local storage, session storage, or browser fingerprinting.
• No cross-site or cross-device tracking, and no data sold or shared with data brokers.

5. Other Paylo.One Services

This policy covers paylo.one only. The Pilot application at app.paylo.one is a separate, authenticated service and necessarily uses additional strictly necessary cookies for authentication, session management, and cross-site request forgery protection. Where that application uses any cookie that is not strictly necessary, it asks for consent within the application itself.

Websites we link to, including GitHub, are operated by other organisations under their own cookie and privacy policies. Following a link from this site takes you outside our control, and we recommend reading the policy of any site you visit.

6. Managing Cookies

You can delete cookies and control how your browser accepts them through your browser settings. Every major browser lets you delete existing cookies, block cookies from specific sites, or block them entirely, and offers a private browsing mode that discards them at the end of the session.

If you delete or block the NEXT_LOCALE cookie, the site will continue to work. It will simply stop remembering your language choice, and will fall back to the language your browser advertises or to English.

7. Changes to This Policy

We will update this policy if the cookies we use change. The version identifier and effective date at the top of this page identify the current revision.

If we introduce a cookie or similar technology that is not strictly necessary, we will publish the updated policy and obtain your consent before that technology is used.
